The Federal state unitary enterprise “Morsviazsputnik” is a national mobile satellite communications operator on the territory of the Russian Federation. The company provides mobile satellite communications services, including services in the framework of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), to the transport industry, legal entities and individuals.

Morsviazsputnik is an operator of the “Polar Express” project – a transarctic submarine fiber-optic cable line from Murmansk to Vladivostok along the shore line of the Arctic zone and the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation.

As a part of the Federal Agency of Marine and River Transport, Morsviazsputnik implements a number of state and national projects, represents the Russian Federation in the international organizations and programs such as International Maritime Organization, International Telecommunication Union, International Organization for Mobile Satellite Communications, International COSPAS-SARSAT Program.
